Toastmasters Kent

Lesley has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. When her children started secondary school she resumed her career in the civil service in several different roles, finishing by managing an office of male and female staff in the employment sector from which she resigned in 1998.

After leaving the civil service, Lesley trained to become a Registrar/ Celebrant and has been conducting marriages, baby naming, and renewal of vows ever since.

In the beginning of her career as a toastmaster she worked in the corporate world and was also involved in Masonic functions. She now concentrates solely on marriages as she feels a huge amount of job satisfaction, and a great privilege to be part of a couples’ special day.

She is known for her bag of “essentials” all of which have proved useful over the years. Cuff links, braces, superglue, tights, safety pins, sewing kit etc.

Her claim to fame is that she was Toastmaster to a famous musician when he got married and had many celebrities among his 600 guests. However she has found small intimate weddings equally as enjoyable and everything in between. She just loves the job.

Lesley has also been a Magistrate for 28 years, not nearly as much fun as Toastmastering!
